The Augmented Reality for Enterprise Alliance (AREA) is the only global non-profit, member-based organization dedicated to the widespread adoption of interoperable AR-enabled enterprise systems.
The Augmented Reality for Enterprise Alliance (AREA) was incorporated in the state of Delaware in December 2013 as a member-driven non-profit organization committed to the global advancement of Augmented Reality technology in enterprise.
The Augmented reality for enterprise alliance was referred to us by another client and wanted us to create a website which included a members portal as well as numerous other interactive areas for clients.
The system needed to work in a certain way that allowed members to have their own login area which contained all of their relevant data as well as giving them access to specific resources based on their individual membership type.
We wanted to create a system that allowed for scalability and flexibility as The Area had grown into the largest AR enterprise portal in the world and what we created needed to reflect that.
Due to the leadership team being spread all over the world we also had to create an easy but detailed cms system to allow a multitude of functionality to be accessed and changed anywhere in the world.
We approached this large project by holding numerous online meetups with the technical team member at The Area who was based in Barcelona. Between us, we outlined and created a specification blueprint for the new system.
Once we had the spec signed off , we moved into design and focused on the techncalities of producing something that refelcted there aims and goals whilst embracing the fact AR is a merging technology.
The development was done in sprints and was handled in blocks allowing for testing to be done at the same time. We finished the development and led to a comprehensive testing period which the client progressed into a beta phase.
Then we deployed and pushed the site to the clients hosting and it was made live.
The technologies we use are always thoroughly evaluated and considered in conjunction with the client’s needs and future scalability.
The Area website needs to be scalable very quickly as the site is how all the members learn the latest developments, documentation and breaking news. There is also a full member portal area, payment gateway integration and instant messenger facility built into the site.
The Area are extremely pro active and passionate about AR and its uses at an enterprise level. this is reflected in the partners they work alongside such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Huawei to name but a few.
