As SEOs sometimes we get frustrated when we see something in the SERPs that just does not make sense. I have been working with a client who deals in car finance. While we have had early success, due to a modest budget and high competition the client understands that they will not be number one for the term “Car Finance” any time soon. It takes time and creativity.
Recently when reviewing the SERP for “Car Finance” on Google.co.uk saw that a Only Car Finance was in the number one spot. This seemed unusual as I had never heard of them but they were ranking above some pretty well established competitors such as Auto Trader and Money Supermarket.
Of the 109,347 back links, only 20 are contributing “full SEO value” and these are split across a diverse number of countries. A quick look at the About Us page of the site shows that they are based in South Manchester, UK. This does beg the question as to why many of these links are international. After some diligent WhoIs lookups, I have been discovered that Only Car Finance have several other domains registered, no doubt ready to switch to in the event that this domain is suffers manual action.
